B&SC are committed to Climate Positivity, and purchase carbon credits through the United Nations supported www.goldstandard.org.
We aim to design ecologically as well as economically wherever possible (such as using sustainable timber solutions where practical) but in many cases the use of steel and concrete is unavoidable – the production of which currently has a high carbon footprint.
We measure the amount of such materials which we have designed for each project, and allocate tonnes of CO2 offset against our carbon credit purchases. This will more than compensate for the ecological footprint of mining, manufacturing, transporting and installing the steelwork in each project.
