Subsidence Risk Assessment Surveys
Clay Shrinkage Subsidence is on the increase, in line with GLOBAL WARMING. 2022 was a record year for UK hot weather and subsidence incidents were similarly at a high in many areas.
Video Surveys - £270
Our fee for a video survey (including written advice) is £270.
However, root-induced Clay Shrinkage Subsidence is very much avoidable, with careful management of vegetation around properties. We offer clay-shrinkage Risk Assessment Surveys by our Subsidence Consultants (remotely via video link, in conjunction with a desk study including our own records of past investigations) to put your mind at ease, and in some cases also to achieve better Building Insurance terms.
Sometimes trees or bushes are on neighbours’ land and they may be unwilling to take the necessary action, but an independent risk assessment can help persuade them (or if not, can remove any legal defence they may have to liability for damage their trees might cause).
Our fee for a video survey (including written advice) is £270.

You may also want a Site Investigation (to make certain of soil type and retrieve root samples), or a more detailed Arboriculturists Vegetation Management Plan for a balanced and measured approach (listing specific action on specific trees bushes and shrubs) which avoids losing attractive vegetation unnecessarily.
We recommend having a broader Risk Assessment Survey carried out first – to avoid wasting unnecessary expense (as many sites are not at risk from tree-related subsidence) and to keep vegetation management proportional.
